Vivekananda Degree College

Established in 1982 by the Janatha Education Society (JES), Vivekananda Degree College has emerged as a distinguished institution of higher learning, affiliated with Bangalore Central University and accredited with an A Grade by NAAC. Recognized as the 4th Best College in Bangalore by India Today Magazine, the college is ideally situated in the heart of the city, just 5 km from Bangalore City Railway Station and Bus Stand, and near the Soap Factory Metro Station.

From its humble beginnings with 150 students, eight teachers, and three undergraduate courses (B.A., B.Sc., B.Com), the college has grown exponentially. By 1986-87, its student body had expanded to 700, supported by 15 faculty members. Early infrastructure challenges were met with an unwavering commitment from JES, leading to the construction of new facilities and well-equipped laboratories. In 1987, the college was granted Grant-in-Aid status by the Government of Karnataka, followed by UGC recognition under 2(f) in 1991 and 12(B) in 1994, catalyzing its all-round development.
